I am so thrilled at the potential of getting to know you and your family. It is only fair that I share a little bit about myself too. I grew up in New Hampshire and attended The George Washington University where I graduated with a degree in Human Services and a minor in Sociology.

Throughout my time in Washington, DC, I was active in the community volunteering and working with a variety of populations who were in need of support, resources, and connection. I worked in a residential setting with children and adults who experienced domestic violence and physical and emotional abuse. I also advocated for domestic violence victims who were pursuing justice through the court system. Through these experiences my love and passion for connecting and supporting people grew. I knew that my passion and gift in life is to support others in their time of need and support others in facilitating their own growth, change, and happiness.

My commitment to self-exploration and curiosity to learn about and understand other people led me to travel the world and our own country. I am very fortunate to have traveled to many parts of the world, including Cuba, Nepal, India, China, South Africa, and throughout Europe. I have also been blessed to live in a variety of places from New England to California, before settling with my family in Boulder. These experiences have provided me with a diverse view of the world and of the human experience while also reminding me of the similarity of all people’s needs for love, support, contact, and connection.

After taking time to explore and get clear on what I wanted in my life, I decided to become a Psychotherapist and pursue my training and education in a curriculum grounded in introspection and experiential learning. I chose Naropa University for my graduate studies because of its focus on understanding the human experience through a holistic perspective. The main principles that guide this perspective for me are:

  • all humans/living beings are connected and thus our behaviors and our internal landscapes are influenced by a variety of factors in our life;
  • we are part of something greater than ourselves;
  • in order for me to be able to support another human on this journey, I must know myself very, very well and be willing to do my own personal growth first.

My training at Naropa was grounded in these principles and included a focus on self discovery and personal growth. In 2009, I graduated from Naropa University with a Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology. Through my graduate studies, I became more focused on work to strengthen the attachment and bond between parent and child- a conviction that was reaffirmed when I had my own child in 2011. I believe that if I can provide parents with support for themselves and for their relationship with their children early in their child’s life, these interventions and support help to create a clear and strong foundation, which in turn will lead to fewer interventions later in life. I recognize that because we no longer live in communities that inherently provide adequate support for parents and families, the journey of parenthood can often be a lonely one, yet we as parents need to find and embrace that support. I am on a mission to provide that for myself and for other families.

Since graduating from Naropa, I have worked as a therapist providing parent coaching and support for families as well as working with people with eating disorders in an Intensive Outpatient Program and have developed a strong skill set for supporting people facing many types of challenges.

Currently, I am supporting families in private practice via Telehealth Sessions and am a Provider for the Imagine! Early Intervention Program (www.imaginecolorado.org) and Colorado Medicaid Region 6 (Colorado Community Health Alliance).

I look forward to getting to know you and working with you to strengthen yourself, your relationships, and your family.
